We’re a few weeks into summer but like always, Vancouver weather has been all over the place. But that’s not going to stop us taking in the beautiful outdoors while we can! We’ve rounded up some of our go-to wellness events and activities in Vancouver that get you moving, seasonal summer recipes that are perfect for picnics, and community events for you to check out.
Browse around a farmer’s market.
Yum, some of the freshest fruit and veggies! These markets are scattered all over Metro Vancouver, from Kitsilano, Mt. Pleasant and Main St. to Downtown, West End, and North Shore (and more). There’s bound to be one close to you.
Spend a beach day with friends.
Read a book, soak in some vitamin D, throw a Frisbee or kick around a soccer ball. There’s so much you can do! Even better, end the day by watching the Honda Celebration of Lights on July 28th.
Explore Vancouver by bike.
Everyone knows about Stanley Park so it’s always crazy busy. For something a bit different, bike around False Creek and Granville Island. Or even head out to Stevenson in Richmond for a change of scenery. Bike rental shops can be found in all these places.
Go on a hike.
Want something easy with rewarding views? Hit up Quarry Rock. Something a bit more challenging? Try Stawamus Chief in Squamish or Eagle Bluffs at Cypress Mountain. You’ll (quite literally) feel on top of the world when you see the spectacular views. Want to make a day trip out of it? Garibaldi Lake, (Whistler), Joffres Lake (Pemberton), and Golden Ears Canyon Loop (Maple Ridge) are our go-to’s.
As always, we love something quick and easy, yet healthy and tasty!
Hummus is a fan favourite. To change things up a bit, try using edamames instead of chickpeas! It doubles as a great dip for veggies and a spread for sandwiches. Check out the recipe here.
This salad isn’t your typical greens. It’s hearty and filling with protein-packed lentils. The cilantro, red onions, and lemon juice brighten up your taste buds. Check out the recipe here.
As a sweet (but healthy) finisher, who doesn’t love a good fruit salad? Add in any fruits that are lying around your kitchen. We especially love watermelon, blueberries, strawberries, and peaches that are currently in season! Check out the recipe here.

Head over to Burrard Dry Docks for an outdoor yoga lesson by the sea. Take in the fresh air while looking over at the beautiful Vancouver skyline. For more information and to register, click here.

Cost: Suggested donation of $4
Join RYU for a high intensity workout! Get ready to sweat. Meet at the Downtown store at Thurlow and Robson at 6:00 PM. From there, you’ll head over to Nelson Park where they will lead you through a sweaty HIIT circuit. For more information and to register, click here.
