This week’s theme is core – alignment. Mental and physical strength comes from an inner strong foundation. Whenever things go right or seem out of whack, do you notice that feeling in your gut that hints at which one it is? Trust that core feeling as it will guide you in the right direction with some foundation and alignment actions

Go back to your values

We’re a third of the way through 2020! It’s a great time to check in with yourself and see if your actions are aligned with your values and intentions that you set this year. How have things shifted since you first set your intentions? What have you accomplished so far? What are you grateful for? Take some time to bask in the sun and reflect.

Prioritize what matters today

We tend to stack our to-do list as productivity can be a badge of honour. Are you doing what matters most today? Take a look at your to do list and take off one item that you can push to another day. Bonus: let yourself do that without a guilt trip.

Redesign your day

What does your day look like? What things do you do from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep? Make a list and evaluate whether they’re in line with your priorities. If not, eliminate the things that aren’t a priority right now and focus on what’s important. Redesign your day.

Core exercises

Strong core muscles are important for balance, stability, correct posture and every day physical activities like tying your shoes, getting something from the top shelf, or lifting heavy objects. Try a few core exercises today, find any cool online event on our myMomentum app. Some examples are body saw, high boat to low boat, bicycle, plank, wheelbarrow, and leg raises.

Check your food groups

Are you getting the right mix of your core food groups? It’s important to eat a balance of protein, fat, and carbs to fuel our bodies. Take a mental note of what you’re eating and consciously check in to see if you’re getting a good mix. A healthy outside starts from the inside. Back to your roots

Take a moment to identify the past, present, and future you. What brought you to where you are today? What’s going on right now? What’s next? If things are out of alignment, how can you lean on your roots to bring you back in alignment? This is a good process for building foundation and core alignment actions.
